You don’t have to, but during our testing we found that scanning bar codes on products is a lot easier if the tablet is stationary and the product is moved behind the tablet for the tablet camera to read the code, than the other way round. You don’t HAVE to add a customer to an order but there are significant advantages in doing so because the order will be associated with that user account and be part of that user’s order history. Also, the system will automatically email the order confirmation and receipt to the customer. You can either:
- Choose an exisiting account to assigne to the order (and many of our customers are repeat buyers).
- Create a new customer record during the process.
Each vard reader is locked to a particular tablet. The lockscreen for each tablet indentifes which tablet is which. You need to use the POS card terminal that is labelled the same as the tablet.
Contactless payment is preferred for two reasons:
- Convenience: it’s the simplest and quickest method
- Infection control: As the name implies it’s also the most hygienic because the customer does not have to touch the terminal with their hands, which reduces the risk of contact transmission.
All other payment methods require more steps to complete and carry the risk of contact transmission – neither cashier nor cusomer wants to transmit an infection to the other
Need to check this is what the RZ want.
- If you process an order with a card payment, all the accounting transactions are automated and there is no need to keep any record.
- If, however, you take a cash payment, you will need to print an extra copy of the receipt for cashbox reconciliation purposes.
Once an order has been completed there is no way to print am invoice from teh terminal. So what do you do if you forget?
- If you have associated a customer record with the order or have entered the customer’s email addesss during the order entry process, the system will automatially email a receipt to the customer
- The Shop Manager or one of the webmasters can print a receipt from the WooCommerce backend
