“The mystery brooch – how family history research helped solve the puzzle”

A jewellery case was found when a cousin of the speaker died. The picture shows the inscription on the top, but who were B.P. and G. A. H. and why was the brooch given?

Mike Bailey has been involved in researching his family history for about 20 years. Some years ago following the death of a cousin he was asked if he could solve a mystery. His talk will show how with minimal initial information, some knowledge of the family structure and specific further research he was able to suggest answers to the puzzle, and in doing so gain additional insight into the life of some of his ancestors.

This talk is free to members of Berkshire Family History Society and we request a donation of £5 from non-members. Pre-booking is required, because the meeting link will emailed in advance. Booking ends one day before event.

To join in this branch meeting, you will need a computer device which has a microphone and speakers. Ideally, also a webcam. You also need to be able to access emails from this device.
